Coastal Fire Centre
All wood campfires, briquette fires, and fireworks prohibited. CSA propane campfire bowls permitted.
Kamloops Fire Centre
Full campfire prohibition in effect across all provincial parks, rec sites, and crown land.
Southeast Fire Centre
Category 1 campfires, Category 2/3 open fires prohibited across entire fire centre.
Cariboo Fire Centre
Prohibition in effect across all zones due to high seasonal wildfire danger.
Prince George Fire Centre
Category 1 campfires allowed in designated park fire pits. Never leave fires unattended.
Northwest Fire Centre
Campfires permitted in designated metal fire rings. Category 2/3 open burning remains restricted.
What You Can & Cannot Burn During a Ban
Violating an active Category 1 campfire ban carries a $1,150 violation ticket under the BC Wildfire Act:
Allowed During Campfire Bans
- • CSA/ULC Propane Fire Bowls: Maximum flame height under 15 cm (6 inches).
- • Backpacking Cooking Stoves: Propane, butane, or white-gas stoves for food prep.
- • Propane Barbecues: Portable gas grills used for cooking.
Strictly Illegal During Campfire Bans
- • Wood Campfires: All campfire pits, rings, and beach driftwood fires.
- • Charcoal Briquettes: Charcoal barbecues and wood pellet smokers.
- • Fireworks & Sky Lanterns: All pyrotechnics and outdoor burning barrels.
